Match Report - Rothwell Corinthians
Kettering Town Under-18's cruised to an emphatic 9-4 win away to Rothwell Corinthians on Monday night, with Matthew Pickard scoring four goals at Sergeants Lawn.
Jack Whittle broke the deadlock with four minutes gone, from the spot, before some good interplay allowed Jordan Orosz to double the lead five minutes later.
Pickard made it 3-0 at the end of a swift counter attack on 26 minutes, and added one more to put The Poppies four goals up, but Corinthians pulled a goal back just before the break.
The in-form striker completed his hat-trick shortly after the restart, with Rothwell adding two more in quick succession to bring the score back to 5-3.
Orosz notched his second of the evening with hour gone and substitute Ben Baker scoring five minutes later extended The Poppies’ advantage to four.
Just over ten minutes later, Pickard added his fourth and Kettering’s eighth, before we conceded a penalty with ten to go. The visitors rounding off the scoring as there was still time for Baker to net his double, with our ninth goal five minutes from time.
