Match Report - Kettering FC
Tom Stanmore bagged five as our Under-18's secured a 11-0 home victory over rivals Kettering FC on Thursday evening.
The midfielder opened the scoring in the opening stages and by the time the second half was three minutes old, he had completed his treble.
In addition to Connor Bellamy grabbed a hat-rick, Matthew Pickard scored twice, with Jordan Orosz also on target at Latimer Park.
The unmarked Stanmore started the avalanche after two minutes as Bellamy found the corner on twelve minutes, before Pickard made it three just before the half hour mark. In another Poppies forward foray, the visitors keeper handled a through ball outside the area and quickly received his marching orders, but there was worse to come for the visitors.
Stanmore scored following neat interplay as The Poppies were four goals up by half-time.
Darren Long's men stepped up several gears after the break, with Stanmore completing his hat-trick.
Orosz was next to get in on the act and Stanmore struck again as the young host's ticked off with two goals in quick succession midway through the second half.
Bellamy continued his sequence of scoring while Stanmore came up with his fifth goal of the evening. Six minutes from time, Bellamy struck his third, ensuring the score went into double figures.
There was still time for debutant Pickard to apply the coup de grace with three minutes remaining. Long's side will seek to continue their goal scoring form against Wellingborough Town on Thursday, when The Poppies look towards their FA Youth Cup game at Latimer Park.
