Match Report
Nicky Eaden's Kettering Town lost 1-0 to Wellingborough Whitworths, a Memorial Game for Maxwell Mallows (the son of former Whitworths manager James), on mild Thursday night.
A healthy crowd of 200 saw the hosts Rene Brittan score the only goal of the game early in the first half and despite the Poppies having the majority of play throughout the game, the Flourmen held on to win the game.
A number of trialists featured for Kettering in both halves with the majority of last seasons squad getting time on the park.
Brett Solkhon, Paul White, Luke Graham, Aaron O'Connor, Lindon Meikle, James Brighton, Ben Milnes, Michael Richens and Joe Massaro played the first half, with Gary Stohrer, Jack O'Connor and Callum Willimont joining a host of trialists in the second period.
Marcus Kelly was rested but should be availabe for the game against Peterborough United on Saturday.
