We appreciate that our fans want to know more about our ground situation and as promised are keen to keep you updated. As you can imagine though, there are some things that we can share and some things that need to be finalised before we make an announcement.
What we can confirm is that representatives from the club met with members from Kettering Borough Council last week. The meeting was focused on one simple topic – the mid to long term home of Kettering Town FC. It is clear that with Rockingham Road being removed from the equation and the general desire for the club to return to a location within the Kettering boundaries we had one avenue to pursue. We can therefore confirm that the club have made a formal request to the council for commercial details to be confirmed for what we believe to be a viable site.
As discussions are still at a delicate stage we have been requested not to declare the location but we are confident that it will ‘tick the boxes’ for the majority of our followers. If we can make this happen the club will move to a purpose built stadium, with on-site parking and suitable clubhouse facilities. This would not however see the end of our relationship with Latimer Park, which would continue to be used as a training base, match day facility for our academy as well as a community venue.
Please bear with us whilst we progress discussions and watch this space for further updates.
