Kettering Town FC Education 2 - 6 Play Soccer USA

The Poppies youngsters conceded a 17th minute goal from the Play Soccer USA. But were quick to bounce back as Nathan Best (above) showed some very creative play in and around the middle of the field which eventually paid off and led to a well composed finish putting the Poppies level with the visitors.

Towards the end of the first half a series of well thought and well delivered passes from the young home side, held possession and began to frustrate the opposition leading to a Red card being shown to Play Soccer USA.

The second half got off to a slow start but soon perked up when Joe Mann scored in the 56th minute.

But after 61-64 minutes saw the Poppies fall to pieces, conceding 3 rapid fire goals due to individual errors, killing the already lagging momentum.

Two more goals finished the game off leaving the lads with a lot to think about and a lot to learn from.

The education side were beaten by a more physical, older squad who scored critical goals at critical times. After two consecutive wins, this defeat has allowed the squad to realise areas for improvement, reflect and understand aspects that we can address at the training ground in preparation for Draper Norton next week. Application, dedication & communication, three things that the young poppies lacked yesterday at their home ground.
