KETTERING TOWN U15'S WINNERS

On Saturday, our Under 15's made the trip to Cirencester Town FC, to play Bromley in the final of the JPL Under 15's Trophy. Cirencester boast the newest laid artificial surface in the country, the weather was good - all set for a good final.

Dan Beaman's Kettering Town side had defeated the likes of Gloucester City, Doncaster Rovers (on the 3G facilities next to the first team stadium, getting changed in the actual stadium), Wiltshire Academy, and Mansfield Town to get to the final.

Bromley boasted being top of their league, and had recent results such as a 7-1 win against Kings Lynn Town and a 10-3 win against Aldershot.
Kettering won the final 4-2, with both Bromley goals coming from very debatable penalties. Both teams created more chances than the final score suggests, but the Poppies were more clinical in front of goal.
An Owen Turner corner in the 30th minute went straight in, with a slight fumble by the Bromley keeper who struggled to find his footing from the in-swinging set piece. Neo Richards-Noel added a second, before Bromley equalised from the spot.
Richards-Noel set up substitute Harry Reid with a square pass to make it 3-1, before adding the 4th himself for his second. Dancing around the corner flag like Elvis Presley, the Poppies players went wild as all 5 subs joined in with the celebrations, as they did with every Kettering goal (much to the dismay of the referee and 4th official!).
Bromley pulled one back, against from the spot, but Kettering held their nerve for the 4-2 win.

A fantastic squad effort with all 16 players getting at least half of the game each. Well done to all!
