Player News

Following a busy day at Latimer Park we can now announce the following:

New Signings:

We have signed and registered, on non contract terms, both midfielder Lewis Hornby and goalkeeper,Paul White. Both players are aged 21 and wish to earn contracts at the club.

Hornby, a local lad, was formerly at Northampton Town until a serious injury forced his release from the Cobblers. He had a spell on loan to us in 2012 and is now fully fit.

Irishman White, left his native country in 2013 to earn a contract at Forest Green Rovers, from where he had loan spells at North Leigh,Gloucester City and Frome Town. He finished last season at Boreham Wood.

Welcome to the club, Lewis and Paul.

We can also confirm that 17 year old Ben Baker, a product of our youth system, has signed a contract until the end of next season with a club option for a further season after that (subject to FA confirmation). Congratulations Ben.

We can also confirm that Paul Walker has decided to look for pastures new, and wants first team football. His Kettering career stuttered last season due to a serious leg injury and this season he has shared the gloves with Craig Hill.

Also leaving is Chris Carruthers, whose appearances have been limited by injury and unavailability due to changing family and work commitments.

Both players joined us from Corby Town last season and our thanks are due to them both for their efforts here and we wish them well for the future.

Injury news:

Both Ben Stephens and Callum Westwood are four weeks away from recovering from injury. Anthony Howell is injured and will undertake rehab and training at Loughborough University where he is studying. He will not feature in the first team squad at present.

Further signings?

Over the last three weeks, Manager Marcus Law has been frustrated in his attempts to sign a central defender, with two deals falling through at the last minute. He is in talks with two further targets with a view to signing at least one of these and any signing news will be announced here first.

Contrary to reports on social media, the club is operating on a strict budget, which the Manager has to adhere to. Therefore players coming in may mean others  have to leave. Our budget has remained at the same figure for the last three seasons and we have to live within our own resources.
