Report From The Park
Kettering Town Under-21's went into fourth in the United Counties League Under-21 Division with a convincing 5-0 win against Desborough Town at Latimer Park on Saturday afternoon.
Goals from Niall Duffy and Ryan Archer gave the hosts the lead, in the first half, before the prior scored his second just on the hour.
An own goal just after the break made it three before Nathan Weekes added to the scoring with a composed finish in the 55th minute.
Both sides started the half looking to retain possession before Duffy put Kettering ahead in the 14th minute, chipping the ball into the back of the net after some good build up play from Mitch Austin's side.
Archer added a second with just four minutes left of the opening period, thundering home Weekes' looping cross.
Kettering started the half brightly and were rewarded for their endeavour in the 48th minute. A Desborough defensive error whilst The Poppies were through on goal led to a composed finish from the Ar Tarn defender.
Weekes added a fourth seven minutes later when, following some more fantastic build-up play, he slotted the ball past Harry Oldham from inside the box.
Duffy completed the scoring after smashing home from close range to cap an impressive team display.
