The Exiles

The Exiles are the brainchild of Club President, Ken Samuel and the late and greatly missed Clive Blanchard. In Clive’s words, “Back in 2015 it occurred to me that, now living in Essex and unable to get to many games, I wasn’t in any way directly supporting the club through the turnstiles, buying programmes, Klondike tickets, etc. furthermore I was saving maybe £20 in fuel cost every home game.”

Clive and Ken then approached other people they knew who no longer lived locally and, with a little gentle persuasion, about 20 agreed to contribute each month in the knowledge that they would receive nothing in return other than the satisfaction of knowing they were helping their Club in the most tangible way possible. True supporters by any definition.

Since 2015, the Exiles have grown and supported the Club in many ways and by also sponsoring a number of home games and, to date, they have contributed around £30,000.
