Kettering Town Football Club provides youth football coaching ranging from 3 to 21 years of age for boys and girls of all abilities. The youngest age group is for 3-5 year olds in the ‘Little Legends’ group. Then we have community teams from under 6-9’s for all abilities that play in a local league. The pre-academy group is for under 7-9’s that play friendlies in midweek for players of high ability in preparation for the main academy. The academy ranges from under 10-16’s and play in the Junior Premier league on Saturday mornings. Players that participate in this are not prevented in playing for their grassroots clubs as well. For those players that do not make the Elite academy teams, they are placed into Development teams that either enter the same league or have a friendly fixture schedule. At post 16, players have the chance to become scholars in the under 19 education team studying ‘A’ levels or a BTEC course whilst training as a full-time footballer. From here players are directed either to the under 18’s or 21s or loaned out to an adult side for experience. The aim is to eventually bring players that can have the ability to play for the first team or the right mentality to carry on playing football, refereeing or coaching as a healthy lifestyle.
