KTFC Walking Football: Red & Black Season Update

On Sunday 27th April 2025 Kettering Town Reds and Kettering Town Blacks Walking Football Teams played their last round of matches in the Northamptonshire FA Walking Football League.  Both teams fighting to improve their places within the division.

Kettering Town Blacks fought hard to climb up the league ladder, but despite a valiant effort from everyone, they could not catch a break and finished at the bottom of the table. This is the first time this team has played in the league and I believe that there will be many improvements next season for them.

Kettering Town Reds played with confidence and skill, moving the ball around well and keeping possession to give themselves an excellent chance of lifting the trophy and the title. In their last game, they were in the driving seat, leading by two goals to nil.  All they had to do was win the game and the title would be theirs. However, with six minutes to go, a slip in concentration allowed the opposition to score. Then, in the last minute of the game, poor marking at the back left a gap for the opposition to sneak in and gain the equaliser. The game finished 2 – 2 and gifted the title to the team which the Reds beaten twice in the league. As you can imagine everyone was gutted, finishing just one point off the lead to finish runners up.

Now we move on as a squad to play in a number of Summer tournaments and the Walking FA Cup, before pre-season training starts and we embark on a new season. One which we will be looking to win this time. COYP!
