Match Preview AFC Sudbury vs KTFC 1 February 2025

Following a disappointing loss against Bromsgrove Sporting on Saturday, the Poppies swiftly return to action this Saturday in the Southern League Premier Central with a visit to AFC Sudbury. ‘The Suds’, under the stewardship of Mark Morsely, are experiencing a dip in form having only picked up eight points from their last ten games losing six (Stamford 1-0; Harborough 1-0; 1-2 Banbury; Royston 3-0; Bishop’s Stortford 1-2; Barwell 3-1), (two draws 0-0 Halesowen, 1-1 at home to Hitchin) and two wins back in November 2024 (1-0 Bromsgrove and 3-0 Stratford). Whilst their overall form over the latter part of the season has been poor (21st in the last six league form guide), all of AFC Sudbury’s points have come at home, most notably in January against Halesowen 0-0.

In contrast, whilst 15 places and 16 points separate the two teams, KTFC have slumped to eighteenth in the league form guide and with AFC Telford’s 6-2 midweek win over Bedford, the pressure is on to get back to winning ways. The Poppies have lost their last three games shipping seven goals in the process slipping to fifth place in the league albeit with three games in hand and five points adrift of the current leaders AFC Telford. Fans will be looking for an improvement in performance from KTFC at The Mel Group Stadium. COYP!
