Match Preview Alvechurch vs KTFC 28 Jan 2025

Following a disappointing loss against Bromsgrove Sporting on Saturday, the Poppies swiftly return to action this Tuesday in the Southern League Premier Central with a visit to Alvechurch. ‘The Church’, under the stewardship of Tim Flowers, are in sparking form having won seven of their last ten league games (one draw 1-1 Biggleswade Town, and only two losses 1-2 Stratford and 0-1 Spalding United) most notably on Saturday beating AFC Telford 3-1 at home. Whilst their home form over the latter part of the season has been patchy (19th in the home form guide), Alvechurch have recorded three wins on the bounce (3-1 AFC Telford, 3-2 Barwell and 0-4 Lowestoft) and scored 10 goals.

In contrast, whilst only eight places and eight points separate the two teams, KTFC have slumped to eighteenth in the league form guide with Alvechurch reaching third place securing thirteen points to Kettering’s five over the past six games. Indeed, the Poppies have lost their last three games shipping seven goals in the process slipping to fifth place in the league albeit with three games in hand and three points adrift of the current leaders Bedford. Fans will be looking for an improvement in performance from KTFC at Lye Meadow. COYP!
