Poppies Win Southern League Premier Central Club of the Month Award

The PST Sport Club of the Month Awards for September 2024 have been announced and in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central, it’s Kettering Town who take the honour.

The award, sponsored by PST Sport, is awarded to the club from each league with the best average points per game (ppg) over the month. Clubs must have played a minimum of three games during the month in either a league, League Cup, FA Cup or FA Trophy match to be considered.

The Poppies started the month with a single-goal defeat at Royston Town, but recovered to secure a come-from-behind victory at St. Ives Town in their next game as Kai Fifield levelled the scores with 20 minutes to go before Lewis White hit the winner in the final minute. A hard-earned 1-0 victory over Cleethorpes Town saw KTFC make Emirates FA Cup progress before they secured a commanding 4-1 triumph against Lowestoft Town in our next outing as an own goal set them on their way just before the interval and second half strikes from Luca Miller, Nile Ranger and Dan Jarvis followed.

Former FA Premier League striker, Nile Ranger was on the mark again in the next game as his brace gave KTFC a 2-0 victory against fellow high-flyers, Stamford AFC. The month came to a close with a convincing 3-0 win away at League rivals, St. Ives Town in the Emirates FA Cup.

Congratulations to the four divisional winners:

Premier Central – Kettering Town (2.500ppg*) win on goal difference
Premier South – Dorchester Town (3.000ppg)
Division One Central – Hadley (3.000ppg) win on goal difference
Division One South – Bristol Manor Farm (3.000ppg)

Each winner receives an engraved glass memento along with a voucher for use with PST Sport who design and build state-of-the-art artificial grass pitches.

The award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the team, club and the Poppies fans. COYP!
