From Gloves to Glory: Livsey Legacy Lives On at Kettering Town

Kettering Town legend Gordon Livsey was literally ‘over the moon’ to see his grandson Harry Livsey, as part of the victorious KTFC U15’s, bring the U15’s Junior Premier League Trophy home to Kettering. Harry, who plays in midfield, was one of the team who succeeded in wining the trophy after a dramatic and hard fought victory at Macclesfield.

Gordon, a former professional footballer, who played as a goalkeeper in the Football League for Wrexham, Chester and Hartlepool United also played for Kettering Town. He made 315 first class appearances between 1964-1977, keeping 91 clean sheets, a club record. Gordon’s club debut v Corby Town 06/10/64, his league debut v Trowbridge Town 06/03/65 with his final game v Chelmsford City 16/05/77.

It’s clear that footballing success runs in the family. Once a Poppy always a Poppy.
