Kettering Town FC are proud to announce that they have appointed Liam McDonald as First Team Manager.
An experienced manager, having been at Redditch United as player coach, Hednesford, Solihull Moors, Rushall Olympic, and latterly Stourbridge, Liam has a strong association with the Poppies having played twenty games under Marcus Law making his debut against Rushden and Diamonds in a 3-1 win at Nene Park and featuring in the last game at Rockingham Road versus Southport. Β
Reacting to the news of his appointment Liam stated that he is βReally excited to be the new manager. Itβs a massive club with so much history. Iβve had numerous conversations with George and Fabian and I feel this is the right place to be. Iβve been here as a player, so I know what this club means to the supporters and how important Kettering FC is to the town. At the start of the season, the club set out clear goals and ambitions, those havenβt changed. We know what we want to achieve and now itβs about working hard, sticking together and believing in what weβre doing. If we do that, anythingβs possible.β
Having undertaken a rigorous selection process, Kettering Townβs owner George AkhtarΒ commented that βSpeaking to Liam at length gave me the confidence that he really believed in this project and getting this club up through the leagues. Speaking to the committee and as many fans as I possibly could, I believe this is the next best chapter in the Club history.β
We welcome Liam back to the Club and wish him every success for the forthcoming season.
