With seven games to go to decide the destination of the Southern League Premier Central League title and promotion places, it is worth understanding the run in permutations so we can track the Poppies potential trajectory to their final league position.
With a maximum of 21 points available, its all to play for. The table below shows the remaining games for the current top five teams with red for top six teams, yellow for mid table and green for those in the relegation places.

Based on current form, AFC Stamford look to have the hardest run in having to play four of the top five league teams with the remaining fixtures against mid table teams. However, AFC Stamford’s form will shape the final outcome given the frequency of playing the top teams. AFC Telford United look to have a less difficult route to the championship given that they only play one team in the top five, KTFC. Their other fixtures are against mid table opponents and two potential relegation clubs.
Halesowen, KTFC, Bedford Town and Stratford all have to play two teams from the top six. However, KTFC and Bedford Town are scheduled to encounter two teams in the potential relegation zone whereas Halesowen and Stratford play only one. KTFC have a fairly even spilt of games, two against the top six, three versus mid table teams and two against the current relegation candidates.
It is worth watching for the form of Banbury and the home form of St Ives together with Barwell, Royston Town and Lowestoft Town given their involvement in the top five games and also this does not discount a late run from Harborough into the promotion chasing places.
Clearly, this is just a bit of fun, its too early for predictions and provides no further insights into who will be victorious on April 26th. A possible 21 points total could be enough. However, there will be a number of twists and turns before the season is over and it all starts today the game against ‘The Bucks’. COYP!
